QR’s bulk specialist, ARG, hauls a range of commodities for Australia’s primary industries and mining sectors. Each year, we rail over 10 million tonnes of freight in bulk, including grain, minerals, livestock, sugar, fuel, lead, copper, sulphur and dangerous goods.

ARG works directly with its customers across these diverse industries to deliver solutions specifically designed to meet their needs. Because ARG operates the terminals as well as the trains, we’re able to deliver better value and more integrated transport solutions.

In 2006, QR merged its Queensland operations with the Australian Railroad Group (ARG) bulk business in Western Australia, New South Wales, Victoria and South Australia to provide a bulk service that crosses Australia. ARG is headquartered in Perth and operates from more than 30 depots, terminals and offices across the country, providing our customers with focused rail solutions.
